Description: Ford came out in 1973 with all guns blazing launching its fastest production car to date, the RS 3100 Capri. With 148 bhp and a top speed of 125 mph from its 3.1 litre Essex V6 it was built to take on the mighty BMW 3.0 CSL’s. One of only 250 cars built in November 1973 Ford struggled to sell the car as its price was fairly high and recession was talking hold. To help move the cars a batch of 50 cars were sent to Australia and were sold through the dealer network in June/July of 1974. This Sebring Red example is still in fantastic condition with it wild front and rear spoilers, for high speed stablility, RS four spoke alloy wheels, RS steering wheel and the large RS 3100 decals on the rear. The engine on this car has been upgraded to group C spec built by Bo Seaton Capri Race car specialists. It has a steel crankshaft, lightened and balanced, forged pistons, high lift cams, ported heads and twin side draught Webers. With lots of power and fantastic sound it really is a hoot to drive.
