REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS: The key to a quality, reliable chiller, or freezer system is balance of all of the components. As Crisp-Air is the designer and manufacturer, the compressor, condenser and the evaporator balances, meaning that heat disbursement is paramount as it is the extraction of heat from the air that causes the chilling. Being a Queensland manufacturer also exposes Crisp-Air is used to designing to more gruelling conditions than traditional suppliers, or assemblers of refrigeration componentry. MAINS POWER STANDBY: Crisp-Air offers a mains power (240v) power interface as an option to vehicular refrigeration solutions. This means that the body to be chilled overnight, reducing the load on the refrigeration system when using the vehicle engine. It is also handy insurance should the vehicle engine fail, as an extension lead can save the contents from spoiling. If insuring the vehicle content, the premium should be lowered for vehicles with a backup system. BODYBUILDING: At Crisp-Air, we have our own body building division that can build an application specific body to suit whatever exacting standards required. Crisp-Air also has a fibreglass section that can insulate commercial vans to refrigerated and freezer applications where a larger, purpose build body is not required. Crisp-Air use .6 SL 75Ml Styrene – Colourbond Sandwich Panel for the smaller refrigerated bodies and use H Grade Styrene Colourbond for larger and Freezer bodies. The thermal quality of Styrene is far better than Poly Urethane over a far longer period. Although both insulation materials are equal when new, the Styrene body rejects the majority of moisture that seeps into refrigerated bodies at dewpoints (rivet holes) whereas the Poly Urethane adsorbs moisture until saturated. Styrene bodies based on the standard 2400 long x 1300 high x 1800 wide weigh two hundred kilograms lighter than the Poly Urethane body and this weight differentiation increases dramatically as the moisture increases in the Poly Urethane body. As the moisture increases in the Poly Urethane/Fibreglass bodies, the thermal qualities of still dry air is replaced is compromised and within a short period of time and the humidity of the region, all of the thermal qualities has been removed placing a substantial load on the refrigeration system and vehicle fuel consumption. The standard floor consists of fifteen millimetres (15mm) plywood floor with a fibreglass overlay and sealed with a toughened grey flow-coat.
